Dallas Cowboys | Scott Linehan: Replaces Callahan for play-calling duties
By Randy Maltz – Founder/Editor Silver and Blue Report & Hook ’em Report

Scott Linehan, Dallas Cowboys, Cowboys, Jason Garrett, Bill CallahanThere has been a coaching change on the offensive side for the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys named Scott Linehan the passing game coordinator.  He will take over the play-calling duties from Bill Callahan, who handled the job in 2013. Callahan will continue to hold the offensive coordinator/offensive line title.
Callahan will continue to hold the offensive coordinator/offensive line title. While Linehan will be the Cowboys’ third play caller in as many years, Marinelli will be Garrett’s third defensive coordinator in as many years and his fourth since taking over as interim head coach in 2010. Callahan isn’t happy with the demotion and is thinking about his future, which is tied to just one year remaining on his contract. Garrett has a previous relationship with Linehan that is comfortable. Garrett wasn’t comfortable with Callahan.

Jason Garrett stated, “The opportunity to add someone of Scott Linehan’s expertise and experience will benefit our offensive unit and we believe the combination of him and Bill Callahan working closely together will give us a great chance to build upon the strides we made offensively last year.”

Things seem to be very confusing and somewhat of a mess with the Dallas Cowboys.  They have not had a playoff appearance in the past four seasons. There is still only one year left on Jason Garrett’s contract.
