Dallas Cowboys | My thoughts: Transition with Monte Kiffin and Rod Marinelli

Jimmy Johnson | Dallas Cowboys: Jerry Jones and Super BowlMost experts say it will probably take the Dallas Cowboys two years before the defensive transition to be completed from a 3-4 to a 4-3.  I think the Cowboys defensive players will buy into the system quickly.
In fact, I think they will reap great results coming in 2013, instead of waiting until 2014.   I personally think America’s Team will get back to a top 10 defense quickly and will be a contender sooner than later.   Tony Romo will lead the Cowboys back to the NFL playoffs next season.  In 2014, I see Jerry Jones having a team capable of finally hoisting that heavy Lombardi Trophy.

The more I research the hiring of Monte Kiffin, I am realizing that this was a great choice for Jerry Jones this offseason.  The fact that Jones signed Rod Marinelli (10 years younger) on board as Defensive Line coach, will be a great way to sell the players on the new Tampa-2 defense to move forward.  Even Tony Dungy, thinks the Cowboys are moving in the right direction, with his old defensive staff now coaching for America’s Team.

The defensive coaching staff will have some familiar faces in 2013, with Jerome Henderson (secondary) and most likely Matt Eberflus (linebackers) returning to the coaching staff.

Once the Cowboys sign a top notch offensive coordinator, Tony Romo is going to have the last laugh!!  Stay positive, my friends!
