Extra Fourth Round Draft Choice
By Randy Maltz – Founder/Editor Silver and Blue Report & Hook’em Report

Jerry Jones | Dallas Cowboys: Jason Garrett and Tony Romo at Cowboys StadiumBecause of losing defensive end Stephen Bowen to Washington last year as an unrestricted free agent, the Dallas Cowboys will have an additional draft choice next month with the NFL awarding the franchise a fourth-round compensatory pick.
The Cowboys will have eight picks in the three-day draft with picks in each round and two in the fourth. The second fourth rounder will be No. 135 overall. The compensatory selection cannot be traded.  Hard to believe … Since Jerry Jones bought the team in 1989, last year was the first time they did did not make a trade during last year’s draft. The NFL handed out a total of 32 picks to fifteen different teams. Cleveland, Green Bay and the New York Jets topped the list with four draft picks each.
