Penalties Problem of the Past?
By Randy Maltz – Founder/Editor at Silver and Blue Report & Hook’em Report

Penalties have been a huge problem for the Dallas Cowboys for the past decade.  Last season, the Cowboys were penalized 109 times.

The Dallas Cowboys have finished with over 100 or more penalties seven times in the last 10 seasons.  Jason Garrett has hired officials for every practice during training camp, which is one attempt at fixing this issue.  Even with all the young players (rookies, free agents, 1st and 2nd year players) on this Cowboys team, they only committed six penalties, with 3 being in the first quarter.  Last season, the Cowboys were penalized 109 times.

“We need to get better understanding the importance of minimizing penalties and also handling situations better,” Garrett said during the team’s stay in San Antonio. “We typically have officials out at practice throughout the season and we thought it was good to do right from the outset.”

In sports, there are certain rules that are broken by players or by teams just to get ahead of their competitor. In real life, there are certain rules that cannot be broken by people to get ahead of others.
