Stephen McGee’s season-ending win over the Eagles was a confidence booster, but the lockout hasn’t allowed him to follow up in the offseason.

Dallas Cowboys QB Stephen McGee likely will not be given the opportunity to compete for the No.2 quarterback during training camp because he was not able to work out in front of coaches and learn how he could improve his play.

Our view: The Cowboys are going to have Jon Kitna as the primary backup behind Tony Romo once again this year. We like McGee’s ability to keep plays alive with his feet while keeping his eyes downfield. McGee has developmental upside, but will likely have to wait until next year to compete for the number two job.
