Tybee Football team headed to Dallas

A group of Tybee Island men are headed to Dallas to play in the Crown Royal Jimmy Bowl. The Salt Island Sand Spurs is a team made up of six men, who entered a contest put on by Crown Royal. The group, including Huc-A-Poo’s owner Eric Thomas made a 40 second music video showcasing endzone celebrations and pleas for why they should be chosen to win the grand prize. The Sand Spurs would claim the top prize…their reward, a trip to Dallas, Texas to play in the annual Jimmy Bowl. The team will square off against another team in a flag football game at Cowboys Stadium on Friday, February 11th. Coaching the squad will be Dallas Cowboy coaching legend Jimmy Johnson.

The team is made up of Eric Thomas, Paxton Willis, Travis Israel, Nick Niles, Danny Rapposelli and Ryan Sadowsky.

The group will be hosting a Pep Rally Party at Huc-A-Poo’s on Tybee Island. The event will take place on Wednesday, February 9th starting at 6pm.
